Affirmation Meaning
Have you ever noticed how you are always repeating the same thoughts in your head? Those are affirmations. And if we don’t consciously choose our affirmations, they will probably be more harmful than helpful.
Affirmations are repeated statements that help shape our reality, our mental health, and our perceptions. We already use affirmations every single day. Over time, they become etched into our subconscious mind.
They can be positive or negative. If left unchecked, they most likely will become negative naturally. That’s because our human brains are hard-wired to lean towards negativity rather than positivity.
Reciting positive affirmations is ridiculously easy, but can sometimes be very uncomfortable. We are so used to our natural negative affirmations that a positive affirmation seems bizarre, uncomfortable, and untrue.
Moving past that initial resistance to positive affirmations is critical to transforming our mindset. Because affirmations embed themselves into our subconscious mind, it takes a bit of effort to “unlearn” them.
But that bit of effort makes all the difference. If we can make ourselves believe that our negative affirmations are true, why can’t we make ourselves believe that our positive affirmations are true?
We all have the power to choose the words in our head. Choosing positive words instead of negative words is the gateway to transforming our reality.

Positive Affirmations
I have already listed fifteen examples of positive affirmations above. There is no limit to the amount of positive affirmations you can recite!
A quick search on the internet will give you an abundance of affirmations you can use. But I still encourage you to use your own affirmations with your own words.
Words that resonate with you will sink in a lot quicker than words that don’t. If you’re not vibing with any affirmation, either rephrase or move past it.
Just make sure you phrase your affirmations in a positive, active voice. Instead of saying “I will be abundant,” say “I am abundant.” Just like the abundance affirmations listed above.
This is the key to successful affirmations. If you don’t phrase your affirmations in an active voice, you will not actually be transforming anything.
Think about how your negative affirmations are phrased. Something like, “I never have enough money” is using active language, even though it’s negative and unhelpful.
Trying to change that to something like, “I will have enough money” is counterproductive because it’s not actually referring to the present moment.
If you’re stuck with your affirmation phrasing, simply state the opposite of your existing negative affirmation. Using the above example, change it to “I always have enough money.”

Daily Affirmations
Reciting positive affirmations is a skill. And like any other skill, it takes dedicated, daily practice to get good at it.
Every single day, make it a point to recite your chosen positive affirmations. At the same time, don’t beat yourself up if you realize you’re reciting a negative affirmation.
Get into the habit of reciting your affirmations daily, and they will replace your negative affirmations sooner rather than later!
Consistency is very important with affirmations! You’re basically working to erase previous affirmations with new ones, and that takes practice.
Most people find that writing their affirmations works best. I recommend writing them out every day, then reading them back to yourself. The mind learns best with writing and reading, so this technique is excellent for the fastest results.
You could also set reminders on your phone to recite your abundance affirmations throughout the day.
It took time for those negative affirmations to take hold. The same is true with positive affirmations. Especially abundance affirmations.
