Spiritual Books to Inspire You

Reading is the best hobby

Every year, I read anywhere from 10-20 spiritual books, plus hundreds of blog posts and ebooks. Usually I find everything I read pretty valuable, but there are always standouts. This blog post is dedicated to sharing some spiritual books I read in 2017 that greatly impacted my life and perspective. Hopefully you will feel inspired to pick up some spiritual books this week! Reading can be a form of self care, if you allow your mind to be open to new ideas and adventures.

“Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.” — Anna Quindlen

In my opinion, there is nothing better than reading a fantastic book. Words just have a way of moving us so deeply, and changing our lives forever. Reading is something every well-rounded person should be doing on a regular basis. Documentaries are awesome and all, but it’s just not the same as holding knowledge in our hands.

The genre isn’t important; what’s important is absorbing the words on the page and allowing them to transform us in positive ways. Spiritual books are great of course, but any book that ignites a fire within you is worth reading!

1. The Ra Material: An Humble Messenger of the Law of One

Who would love this book: Lightworkers (like you!). Those in search of universal truths, with the desire to spread love and light to others. Anyone who is ready to ascend to the 4th density of existence, or has an inkling that they are ready.

When I read the The Ra Material: The Law of One (LOO), I feel as though I’m reading about my life’s purpose. This book has become one of the most important spiritual books I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. I originally came across this series watching Nikki Sutton’s videos on Spiritual Awakening. She is super knowledgeable and fun to watch, and she often references the Law of One.

I’m not going to lie, these books are dense. You could easily spend an hour or more just reading through one session, and you still probably wouldn’t absorb everything. However, they are still very interesting! It would be a shame if you only read through these books once for this reason. Ra offers a wealth of knowledge we wouldn’t normally have access to.

Luckily for us, you do not need to purchase these books to get this invaluable information. Use this site to search through all the material for free.

The LOO is a series of five books containing the exact transcripts of 106 channeled sessions with an extraterrestrial group called Ra. Carla Rueckert was the main channel used for these sessions, which took place between 1981 and 1984. Each session is a series of questions asked by Don Elkins and Jim McCarty. Topics range from Earth history, healing, cosmology, harvest/ascension, The Great Pyramids, wanderers, UFOs, meditation, chakras, and SO much more. I feel like these spiritual books address a lot of different questions I had about humanity, the Universe, and our history. Ra is benevolent, and only wishes to help us better understand the LOO.

“I am Ra. The progress is normally from the understanding which you now seek to a dimension of understanding which is governed by the laws of love, and which seeks the laws of light. Those who are vibrating with the Law of Light seek the Law of One. Those who vibrate with the Law of One seek the Law of Foreverness.”

Reading is a great habit to have because it promotes personal growth. Here are my favorite spiritual books that have greatly impacted my life!

2. The Ascension Mysteries by David Wilcock

Who would love this book: Anyone interested in conspiracy facts, ascension/spiritual awakenings, and overcoming personal struggles. Those who ask: “What is the purpose of being incarnate at this time?”

What an awesome book! After about ten days I had read the whole thing cover to cover–my nose was stuck inside. The first part of The Ascension Mysteries: Revealing the Cosmic Battle Between Good and Evil is David sharing his most painful childhood memories with us. There are incredible stories about him developing ESP at a young age, narrowly escaping bullies, and overcoming addictions. I was definitely emotionally attached before I was even half way through.

“Ascension is built into the clockwork of the universe itself, and will propel us into the next level of evolution like a massive bell ringing on the hour.” — David Wilcock

The second part of this book dives head first into the testimonies of various high-ranking government insiders. This is an attempt to push us in the direction of full-disclosure. Most everyone in the world knows there are secrets being hidden from us. And the Ascension Mysteries presents us with loads of compelling evidence that cannot be ignored. Hidden knowledge, technologies, and control techniques are being brought to the surface for the purpose gradual disclosure. The information provided is extremely eye opening and validating.

I realize that these spiritual books are probably not the type of thing you typically read, but I urge you to step out of your comfort zone.

We can’t discuss ascension without discussing the Universe, and all the other Beings that dwell within It. Humanity knows they are not alone, even if their egos deny it. And the few people considered to be part of the Elite are extremely careful about hiding this fact. As well as other facts about the nature of reality, and what it means to be alive. But not all is lost–millions of people are waking up to the facts that are hidden in plain sight.

The energy around us is shifting. We are physically moving into a pocket of intense cosmic energy that will move humanity forward in incredible ways. Disclosing these truths about the Universe would drastically change life on Earth forever. We are all due for an energy upgrade, and we must choose what side we are on. I’ll definitely be reading more of David’s spiritual books in the future.

I’ve really put a dent in my new book this week; “The Ascension Mysteries” by David Wilcock 💙💛💜 . I’m very much enjoying learning more about Mr. Wilcock in this book as he shares his personal struggles that lead him to his awakening. He’s been a public spiritual figure for some time and I’ve always been a fan of his work. All the information in this book is extremely eye opening and validating. If you have any interest at all in conspiracy facts, ascension and spiritual awakenings, I highly recommend this book. Mr. Wilcock is doing an excellent job at illustrating what ascension looks like in real life, plus has a ton of intriguing evidence. 3. The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra

Who would love this book: Spiritual souls looking for some concrete concepts in a very abstract niche. Those who are ready to work through old karma to become the best they can possible be.

A very compelling read. Overall, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Practical Guide to the Fulfillment of Your Dreams is pretty easy to get through (I finished it in just a few sittings) but the content and the messages are very powerful. Applying the seven laws in our lives will help us to manifest the life we’ve always wanted to live. The life we came here for. If you’re ready to take on the challenges of inner-work, then I definitely think this book is for you.

This book deserves a whole post just for itself (foreshadowing!). But for now I’ll briefly share the seven laws and their biggest takeaways. These are all direct quotes from the book:

1. The Law of Pure Potentiality: “The source of all creation is pure consciousness, pure potentiality seeking expression from the unmanifest to the manifest. And we realize that our true Self is one of pure potentiality, we align with the power that manifests everything in the Universe. “

2. The Law of Giving: “The Universe operates through dynamic exchange, giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the Universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the Universe circulating in our lives.”

3. The Law of Cause: Karma. “Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind, what we sow is what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success.”

4. The Law of Least Effort: “Nature’s intelligence functions with effortless ease, with carefreeness, harmony, and love. And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease.”

5. The Law of Intention and Desire: “Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment, intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite organizing power. And when we introduce an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing power to work for us.”

6. The Law of Detachment: “In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty, in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning. And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the Universe.”

7. The Law of Dharma: “Everyone has a purpose in life, a unique gift or special talent to give others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.”

Reading is a great habit to have because it promotes personal growth. Here are my favorite spiritual books that have greatly impacted my life!

4. Moonology by Yasmin Boland

Who would love this book: Those who have always fallen in love with Mother Moon, and wish to perfect their manifestation skills. Anyone with an interest in astrology as a tool for healing and personal growth.

Just as the name suggests, Moonology is about “working with the magic of the lunar cycles.” Astrologer Yasmin Boland has such a darling personality, I’ve become a raving fan of hers. Every two weeks at the new and full moons I reference the plethora of information available in each chapter.

“Watching the Moon from month to month and year to year will put you in touch with her cycles and rhythms–it will help you to remember that we’re all a part of something much bigger; that we’re kids of the Universe. We’re stardust.” — Yasmin Boland

I’m a sucker for any author willing to share personal stories in their books. Yasmin tells of how she has manifested many things in her life using the Law of Attraction combined with the magic of the Moon. Astrology is a vast topic, and Moonology makes learning the basics very easy for beginners. Multiple FAQ sections ensure that we have everything we need to work with the moon daily.

Seriously–if you’re on the hunt for spiritual books to check out, you can’t get more spiritual than this one!

The sheer volume of detailed guides and charts in this book make it timeless. Both the new and full moons are covered extensively in a language that is easy to understand. The moon goes through each sign of the twelve zodiac every month. And Moonology discusses how the signs “flavor” the lunar energies. There is a guide to the New Moon in each sign, as well as a guide to the Full Moon in each sign. On top of that, there’s also a guide to the Daily Moon in each sign. Truly awesome!

5. Positive Magic by Marion Weinstein

Who would love this book: Anyone who is new to all the popular concepts of spirituality. Beginners who are wanting an all-in-one guide for living a spiritual life. Those asking the questions: “Is magic real? Can magic be real?”

I was pleasantly surprised at the wide range of topics covered in Positive Magic, Revised Edition. Witchcraft, paganism, karma and reincarnation, death, divination, astrology, and more! All relating back to magic–the magic that is within all of us. Originally published several decades ago, it has since been revised. In a nutshell, the goal of this book is described as “establishing magic as a new context for self-help.”

“The work of magic involves transformation, and the first transformation is the shift of perception. And once we establish that anything is possible, then the world as we know it can be flexible.” —  Marion Weinstein

A recurring theme on this list of spiritual books is the wealth of knowledge contained within the pages. Positive Magic is definitely no exception! Clear definitions of terms like magic, occult, metaphysics, and Pagan set the stage for in-depth discussions later on. I love a thoughtfully constructed book with lots of references. And just like the Ascension Mysteries, Positive Magic leaves behind a bibliography worthy of bookmarking.

Witchcraft is a living heritage, and you do not necessarily need to label yourself as a “witch” to apply these teachings. Marion dedicates a whole chapter to explaining the philosophy of Witchcraft, from its ancient roots to modern perspectives. After reaching the last page, I felt like I had a much better understanding of what it means to be “spiritual.”

BONUS: You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay

Who would love this book: Anyone who believes in the power of their own mind, and wants to utilize the body’s natural healing abilities. People who have tried to make positive changes in the past but haven’t been able to see it through.

The book You Can Heal Your Life is truly inspiring.  I like how it holds me accountable for my actions, and I know a lot of other mystics feel the same! My favorite part is the very end where Louise tells her own story that proves all her theories are true. Out of all the spiritual books on this list, YCHYL is the most famous. Anyone of any age can (and absolutely will!) learn something new from Louise. If you were to pick only one of these spiritual books to read, pick this one.

“We are always perfect, always beautiful, and ever changing. We are doing the best we can with the understanding, awareness and knowledge we have. As we gain more understanding, awareness and knowledge, we will do things differently.” — Louise Hay

If you follow me on Instagram, you know how much I adore Louise Hay. Actually, the entire spiritual community looks up to Louise Hay and the example she has set for us. She made self-help books “cool and trendy.” Her approach is practical and applicable to everybody. We were all devastated when she passed away in 2017. But we are confident that her lessons will live on for centuries to come. Between the millions of lives she directly impacted and her non profit called Hay House (which Yasmin Boland is part of), her legacy will continue to change the world.

Earlier this year I wrote a guest post for Lovingthyself all about Louise Hay and how incredible her work is. Check out that post here!
